Do I need an appointment?

Do you test 2012 and older trucks?
Yes. Which test your truck needs comes down to the engine year. 2013 and newer engines have on-board diagnostics, so we plug in and read the truck’s own data. 2012 and older engines do not have that, so they need a non-OBD opacity test using a smoke meter — a different piece of equipment entirely. We do both, right here, and the price is $75 either way.
What is the difference between OBD and non-OBD testing?
OBD testing reads the engine’s own diagnostic data through a port, which is how 2013 and newer engines are checked. Non-OBD testing measures the actual exhaust opacity with a smoke meter, which is what 2012 and older engines require. A lot of mobile testers only carry the OBD side, so older trucks get turned away. We run both.
What vehicles do you inspect?
Semi-trucks, commercial trucks, box trucks, RVs, motor homes, service vehicles, and fleet vehicles. We do not inspect passenger cars.
What happens if my truck fails inspection?
If your truck does not pass inspection, you will need to complete necessary repairs and return for a FREE retest within 30 days. We clearly explain what needs to be fixed so you can get back on the road quickly.
Who is required to complete a CARB Clean Truck Check in California?
Most diesel trucks operating in California with a GVWR over 14,000 lbs are required to complete periodic emissions compliance checks under the CARB Clean Truck Check program. Requirements vary based on vehicle type and registration status.
How often do I need a CARB Clean Truck Check?
Compliance frequency depends on your vehicle and CARB schedule. Many trucks require periodic testing to remain compliant and avoid penalties. Please check your CARB account for your specific testing schedule.
